Industry News - Kenmare rejects Iluka approach

Iluka Resources, the worlds largest producer of zircon sand, made a share for share exchange offer to Kenmare Resources for its Moma Titanium and Zirconium mineral mine in Mozambique.

Kenmare have rejected the offer saying that Iluka had not fully recognised the value of the low cost and long life Moma asset.

Zircon sand is the starting raw material for the majority of zirconium oxides and chemicals, including zirconium oxychloride, zirconium basic carbonate, zirconium oxide, zirconium acetate, zirconium nitrate, yttria stabilised zirconia.
