Iluka Resources increases its Zircon Sand Reference Price by 15% for Q3 2018Iluka Resources has increased its Reference Price for Zircon Sand by 15% for Q3 2018. The guide price is the benchmark for which Iluka basis its contract pricing for the coming quarter. For Q3 2018 this stands at USD 1410/mt, a 15% increase compared to the first half of the year and this will be reviewed again in September 2018. This increase will lead to upward pressure on the price of downstream zirconium products. Zircon sand is the starting raw material for the production of the majority of zirconium based products, including; zirconium oxychloride, zirconium basic carbonate, zirconium hydroxide, zirconium dioxide and yttria zirconia.
