New USA trade tariffs put on hold

Following the G20 summit in Buenos Aires last week, the USA has agreed to put on hold for 90 days the planned increase in trade tariffs on USD 200bn of Chinese imports.

On the 24th September 2018 the USTR introduced a new import tariff of 10% on selected Chinese imports valued at USD 200bn. On the 1st January 2019 this was due to increase to 25%. The increase has be delayed by 90 days to allow the USA and China to continue discussions on improving their trade relations.

Zirconium products, including zirconium basic carbonate, zirconium oxide and yttria zirconia are included in the list of products effected by the new tariffs.
